The Skoda Rapid has been made with the sole purpose of making the long escapades memorable. Skoda Rapid is a car that has been made with a lot of thinking behind it and this clearly shows with the focus even on the minutest of details. The car is a perfect combo of space, comfort and convenience. The seats are adjustable along with adjustable steering wheel making for a best in class driving experience. The Rapid also boasts of adjustable dual rear air conditioning vents, intelligent Climatronic air conditioning, front and rear centre armrest, reading centre lamps at the front and spot lamps at the rear. It also has a lot of functional usage like storage compartments at the front door bottle holders,  integrated map pockets, intelligently designed collapsible cup holders, storage compartment in the front armrest ensuring that you are treated nothing short of a king. The safety is taken care by the remote control locking and unlocking of doors and the boot lid, child-proof rear window and door locking, Engine Immobilizer with a Floating Code System, Dual Rate brake assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), adjustable head restraints both at the front and the rear for a safe ride, anti pinch windows, driver and front passenger airbags and anti-glare interior rear view mirror ensures clear visibility under any light conditions. The rear is however alien to the VW Vento for a change. Skoda has inserted its ‘C’ motif in the tail-lights section where the number-plate sits. The Rapid will go on the sale this November. 9-Nov-2011:Skoda Rapid sedan will be launched in Europe and China during 2012-13, but before that the car will be on the Indian roads on the 16th of November 2011. The Skoda Auto maker is looking to cement its position in India. Dr H.C. Winfried Vahland, Chairman of the Board of Management revealed about their massive plans in developing economies like India. This Skoda Rapid will be equipped with the same 1.6 L petrol and diesel engine. The car will produce a maximum of 103 bhp similar to the Volkswagen Vento. The Skoda rapid is also expected to come with an automatic gear transmission for the high-end variants inclusive for the both petrol and diesel engines. This really comes as an improvement considering the fact that the Volkswagen Vento diesel variant does not have an auto gear option. From the looks of the current market trends and previously launched sedans in the recent past, one can come to the conclusion that the Skoda rapid will be priced cheaper compared to the Volkswagen Vento. The diesel version of the Skoda rapid sedan will surely grab a lot of eyeballs and is expected to give a stiff competition to the other sedans in the market.
